My Sissy is Married

So my sister finally got MARRIED!!!
She was such a beautiful Bride. I could hardly not cry everytime I looked at her.
Also almost all of my family was there...and I am not just talking about "physical" family...but also my old 'second parents' and babysitters and best friends! From all over the country! It was so fun to see old faces and catch up.
My Dad was right...it was as close to Heaven as we will ever get. Good Friends. Good Food. And Good Beer. The night was perfect.

My sister and I!!! Laughing at something inappropriate that one of the Bridesmaids said..."Claire".

My Family at the Rehearsal dinner the night before at Moes Barbecue Downtown. Such a Great Venue!
My favorite picture at the wedding was the one my photographer friend Camille Beasley at SCBphotography got while they were driving away in the 1970s London Taxi that my parents also drove off in!
I am so excited for my baby sister. She married her high school sweetheart Thomas Nordyke and they are currently on their honeymoon in Jamaica. My sister is so fun and loving and Thomas is so hardworking...they needed this vacation and I am so excited for them.

I want to shout out to my Bestie Camille for taking these beautiful pictures. Please see her if you ever need a photographer. She is wonderful and so comfortable!!!

Pirate Radio

I have just spent the last two hours with my friends watching Pirate Radio. The characters, though Shallow, were so hilarious. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. Watch it. I know you'll love it!

THE PENITENT

This week has been a sad week. My cousin in law committed suicide. Leaving behind two sons. The funeral was extremely sad, especially to see my family mourning. The next morning i came upon this Anne Bronte poem, which has always been a favorite of mine...and I can't help but think of my cousin Rebecca and her two boys. I love how it talks about our sorrows and hurts...but that there will be joy in heaven. Always pressing on towards the goal.

THE PENITENT
by: Anne Bronte (1820-1849)

MOURN with thee, and yet rejoice
That thou shouldst sorrow so;
With angel choirs I join my voice
To bless the sinner's woe.

Though friends and kindred turn away,
And laugh thy grief to scorn;
I hear the great Redeemer say,
"Blessed are ye that mourn."

Hold on thy course, nor deem it strange
That earthly cords are riven:
Man may lament the wondrous change,
But "there is joy in heaven!"

THAT THERE IS JOY IN HEAVEN!

Gone with the Wind

My mother has been begging me to read Gone With the Wind for as long as I can remember but I don't like to read books after I have already seen the movies...i just get bored and want to fast forward to the good parts.
That never happened with Gone with the Wind. From Cover to cover I could not stop reading it. It was awesome. In the film, Scarlett is a bratty teenager who just wants attention. In the book she is a woman who is ahead of her time and who wants to truly live and not be confined to the patterns of her society. I could not help but love her! And not to mention Mr. Sexy Rhett! Ugh...he is just such a firm and brilliant man!
Read it! I know you'll love it!

And Again...

Seven Years in Tibet

This movie is so beautiful. It is a little slow but the cinematography and the themes are so beautiful that it has become one of my favorite movies!

"We have a saying in Tibet: If a problem can be solved there is no use worrying about it. If it can't be solved, worrying will do no good."
